Blackmailer - Michael Strawbridge

BLACKMAILER MICHAEL STRAWBRIDGE On the 11th of August 2006 I received a late night call on my mobile phone from a withheld number. "You murdered Tucker, Tate, Rolfe and Danny Marlow the taxi driver," a man with a strong Geordie accent said. "Really," I replied, "You had better go to the police and tell them the wrong men are in jail." "No," the Geordie said, "I want £10.000 in cash from you or I am going to go to the newspapers with tapes that prove you killed them."

I told the man I would pay him but he would have to pop around to my house to pick up the cash. "Do you think I am fucking stupid," he replied, "I will give you a time and place to drop it off." "Perhaps I can put it in a bag and leave it in the front garden?" I said, "Do yourself a favour mate and fuck off." I replaced the receiver and thought that would be the end of the matter.

In the eleven years since Tucker, Tate and Rolfe were murdered ,I have been receiving regular calls from strangers who are either abusive or issue death threats. I receive hate mail and occasionally, like in the incident with Gaffer, endure violent attacks. John Whomes has even received my hate mail at his pub with a note asking him to re-direct it because the sender didn't know my address.

Its annoying, frustrating and occasionally depressing but rarely do I feel threatened. If somebody intended causing me serious harm I am certain they would not give me prior warning. This was not the first occasion that a caller had accused me of being a murderer but it was the first time one had demanded money.

I put the call down to the evils of drink, drugs or both and thought I would hear no more. The following morning I was awoken by the insistent ringing of my mobile phone. Before I had chance to speak the caller said," Because of your fucking cheek O'Mahoney, we now want twenty grand or we go to the police and the newspapers." "Who the fuck are we? I replied.

The man, who I realised was the same person who had called the day before said, "I am one of the Conroy's, C-O-N-R-O-Y-S, have you got that?" I had no idea who the Conroy's were or what business they thought they had with me so I asked the man to explain just what his problem was. "We have proof that you murdered Tucker, Tate, Rolfe and Marlow, we want twenty, no fuck it, fifty grand off you or you are going to jail. The people in prison didn't kill them O'Mahoney, you did."

Rather than debate my innocence or guilt with a moron I switched my phone off and tried to go to sleep. These calls continued for three weeks, the caller told me he was going to cut my eyes out and as time went by he began demanding £50.000. I have a wealth of evidence against this individual, including AOL conversations witha female in which without prompting he ADMITS he is Blackmailing me.

In other conversations he talks of his hatred of Muslims, how he beats them up and how he purchased their holy book just to urinate on it. Last year, shortly after my wife had died, I rang a builder who owed me money for work I had paid him to do but he hadn't done. I was in paris when I told him to re-pay me or do the work or else.

When I returned home officers with dogs stormed my house, I was remanded in custody for 3 months and "the victim" was given police protection. I was charged with 7 counts of Blackmail, one for each call, this, despite the fact some of the calls were from him TO me!!

When it came to Court I had served a 6 months sentence, I had an injunction imposed upon me preventing me from EVER contacting the man again, I was given 150 hours community service, 12 hours Education to be done one hour per week and one years probation.

Today, Michael strawbridge was given an £80 instant fine by police and without having to even attend court, released. The following are examples of MICHAEL STRAWBRIDGE the man who thinks he has evaded justice.
