Statement of: GARRIE ROBERTS

This statement (consisting of 1 pages each signed by me)
is true to the best of my knowledge and belief and I make
it knowing that, if it is tendered in evidence, I shall
be liable to prosecution if I have wilfully stated anything
in it, which I know to be false or do not believe to be
true.

On Saturday the 30th of August 2003 I was on duty when
I attended at THE COACH HOUSE public house Bridge Foot
Market Deeping at approximately 10:00am following an incident
early that morning where persons had been injured. Whilst
there I spoke to a male I now know to be PANOS MANTALEROUS
manager of the pub.
He pointed out to me a blood stained towel which was in
a wheelie bin outside the pub I seized this exhibit RGR1.
At 10:55am I attended at Market Deeping police station
and recorded a statement from KENNETH MARSH TURTON born
27/03/57. He showed me injuries to the left side of his
face which were a number of lacerations and also a cut
to his neck which was covered over with a dressing. I
then attended at Spalding police station with DC 705 Bush
and liased with the custody sergeant. At 15:24 I commenced
a tape recorded interview of a male in custody who I now
know to be Bernard O'MAHONEY born 15/03/60. This interview
concluded at 15:54 RGR 1T. At 16:35 I commenced a second
interview which concluded at 17:15 RGR 2T. A third interview
was commenced at 17:16 and concluded at 17:30 RGR 3T.
At 18:08 I charged O'MAHONEY and following the caution
he replied "I understand you".
He was then fingerprinted and photographed and I then
took his DNA 2 sample RGR 1D. On Monday the 1st September
2003 I made a transcript of the tape recorded interviews
RGR 1Ta.
