Sean BUCKLEY (N19) was seen at his home address 225a Elmsleigh Drive, Leigh on Friday 9th My 2004 (09/07/2004). BUCKLEY was aware of the current re investigation. He gave the impression of being willing to help in the investigation and readily invited us into his flat. He stated that he stood by his original statement made nearer the time of the murder and that what he had said was true (S68).
He was asked to enlarge on his relationship with all parties involved and also about the night in question. He said that he could not help any further, and had not remembered or heard anything which might help the investigation. When asked to enlarge on what he had originally said in his statement he stated it was too long ago to recall the finer details.
He would not enlarge or commit himself to any further comment other than to say that all he could say was in his statement made at the time. He maintained that since it was over three years since the murder he could not remember anything further. He stated he was more friendly/closer to Kevin WALSH and Kate GRIFFITHS rather than ALVIN and PERCIVAL.
He was non-committal as to the last time he saw any of them and denied he had spoken to any of them since the arrests. He was aware that arrests had been made, but made no comment about it. During this enquiry we have spoken to WALSH, GRIFFITHS and now BUCKLEY.
It has been interesting to note that all of these persons have made the same replied to our questions. It is almost as if they have agreed a course of conduct and are relying on their statements totally and are unwilling to expand upon them in any way.
