13/10/00 - Murder police need to quiz DJ
By Essex Evening Echo
Detectives have taken the rare step of naming a man they want to question in connection with the murder of a Basildon man.
They have launched an appeal for the man to come forward as part of their hunt for the killer of 24-year-old Danny Davis. Mr Davis, of Waldegrave, Vange, who left behind a young son, died after being stabbed in the buttock on the Ryedene estate, also in Vange, in February.
Although several people were arrested and questioned after the murder - and a 48-year-old man is currently on police bail - nobody has yet been charged. Police have now released the name and photograph of a man they are keen to interview in connection with the stabbing.
The man is Alex Barry Henderson, a 25-year-old believed to be working as a London DJ under the name MC KID. Mr Henderson is also believed to use the alias Jamal Timberland James.
He is black and around 5ft 11ins tall, of a broad build with brown eyes and dark brown curly hair. He has a tattoo on his left forearm saying Prime Time Player.
The case was featured on Wednesday's BBC Crimewatch programme. An Essex Police spokesman said there was a fair response from the public, and calls were still coming in.
