An amateur charity boxing match with a difference is to be held in aid of former Codsall boy James Fallon, who was paralysed after a road crash in South Africa. The match — at the Prince Regent Hotel, Woodford Bridge, Essex is being presented by special permission of Ronnie and Reggie Kray, who are helping to raise funds for James.

One of the organisers, Bernard O'Mahoney, said that several of the Krays' old associates would be at the evening, plus pop and rock stars. As well as the boxing, there will be an auction with prizes including a holiday in the Costa del Sol, paintings by Reggie Kray, poems by Ronnie, footballs signed by Arsenal and Everton and shorts worn by Charlie Magri for a European title fight.

Mr O'Mahoney said that only a handful of tickets were still available for the event on March 23 event. Anybody interested can get in touch with him on 0****-******. James, now aged 11, left hospital at Christmas after undergoing 18 months of treatment following the horrific crash.
