NOTORIOUS Kray Twins henchman Tony Lambrianou died yesterday at 62.

The hardman was part of the feared gang who ruled London’s underworld in the 1960s.

He spent 15 years in jail for his part in the murder of Jack “The Hat” McVitie and later became a celebrity with books and TV appearances.

The dad of two was found dead by second wife Wendy at their home in Swanscombe, Kent.

Actress Barbara Windsor, who knew the Krays, said: “He was a gentleman and a lovely friend. I’m really sad for Wendy.”

Close pal Joe Pyle said Tony had been gardening when he went for a lie down, adding: “It was a shock. He never complained of being unwell.”

Another friend, Wilf Pine, 60, added: “He lived an incredible life.”

Eastender Lambrianou was a small-time crook before running Ron and Reggie Kray’s northern operations.

He was sentenced to life in 1969 for luring fellow gangster McVitie to his death and getting rid of the body.
