14/03/04 - No respect due to killers, thugs and villains
By Sunday Sun Newcastle
I will not join Gateshead businessman Steve Wraith in mourning the death of gangland henchman Tony Lambrianou.
Wraith was involved in the security arrangements at the funeral of the former enforcer for the Kray twins, who spent his early years in Consett, County Durham. Hundreds attended the traditional East End funeral of the 61-year-old after he died from a heart attack.
Wraith considers the likes of Lambrianou as "celebrities" who make guest appearances at events and sign autographs for adoring fans.
He's wrong. They are ex-killers and thugs cashing in on their notoriety. Wraith seems to have forgotten the difference between heroes and villains. Lambrianou should be buried, then forgotten.
