01/06/02 - Reggie's secret
murder
By ROBIN PERRIE
The Sun
Reggie Kray has confessed to another murder
from beyond the grave, it has been claimed. The execution
- said to involve a dad buried alive in a churchyard -
could be the mysterious killing Reggie mentioned in a
TV interview just before he died of cancer in October
2000.
Asked then if he had committed any murders unknown to
cops, he replied: “One.” Reggie’s “confession”
came after he and twin Ronnie were contacted by psychic
Sally Morgan. She was called in by film maker Liam Galvin
as he made a telly show about the Krays.
Sally, who writes a column in BBC magazine Eve, said the
twins came to stand by her side — and Reggie revealed
all about his secret murder. The 51-year-old medium added:
“It was one of the most horrific things I have ever
heard.”
Sally said Reggie told her that he and three henchmen
dragged their victim, a father-of-two, out of a club in
London’s West End. They tied his hands and feet,
bundled him into a car and took him on a 50-minute drive
to a deserted churchyard in Essex.
The terrified man, a tubby sixfooter in his 30s, was forced
to watch as a grave was dug for him. He was pushed in
screaming. And Sally said: “If the body is ever
found, the skull will have its mouth open and it will
be full of earth.”
The psychic added that Reggie, who was 66 when he died,
insisted Ronnie played no part in the killing. Sally,
who counts Spice Girl Mel B and TV chef Antony Worrall
Thompson among her clients, tells in the film how she
“stood behind” Reggie at the crime scene.
She says the gangster hurled abuse at his victim and wanted
him to know he was about to die horribly. After the burial,
she adds: “Reg is smiling and saying, ‘I made
a good job of that.” Sally insisted two of Kray’s
henchmen are still alive — and claimed the gang
paid the victim’s widow to keep quiet.
Liam, 44, is trying to sell the film to TV chiefs in Britain
and America. He has sent a copy to Scotland Yard. The
Met said: “We will look at the allegations.”
Krays friend Steve Wraith thought the killing could be
linked to the disappearance of gang member “Mad
Teddy” Smith in 1967.
Steve, 30 — who has written a book on the twins
— said it was widely thought Reggie was referring
to Smith in his TV interview. He added: “It could
be Smith’s murder Sally is describing — or
it’s possible there was another one Reg didn’t
want to talk about on his deathbed.” |
