??/??/?? - Service in memory of tragic schoolboy
Express & Star

Friends and relatives of Codsall schoolboy James Fallon will gather on Saturday for a special service in his memory. The service will be at 11am at Si Nicholas Church in the village where James's family lived until they emigrated to South Africa.

James, aged 11, died in March in a Johannesburg hospital nearly two years after being paralysed when struck by a speeding car driven by an underage motorist. Top surgeons in South Africa managed to save his life in a seven-hour operation.

He was finally allowed home 18 months later, but died after going into a coma following injections. A fund-raising appeal for him was supported by a large number of national celebrities, including former London gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray.

James's grandmother, Mrs Rita Nicholson, of Wilkes Road, Codsall, said today: "We are anxious that all friends and relatives and people who helped James in any way should attend." His parents, Roger and Elaine I Fallon, will fly in from South Africa for the service.

A request to the Home Office to allow the jailed Kray twins to attend has been turned down.
