Mr B King

Date 11 December 1989

Dear Mr King
The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your letter of 16 October in which you asked if Mr R Kray who is currently serving a sentence at Lewes prison might be interviewed on Sky Television in support of the James Fallan appeal.

Your request has been carefully and sympathetically considered but I am afraid that under Home Office policy serving prisoners are not allowed to take part in this sort of television presentation.

I am sorry that this will be a disappointment to you but I wish you every success in your efforts to help young James Fallan. I do apologise for the delay in replying to your letter. This was caused by my absence from the office on sick leave.

Yours sincerely
D A BROWN
