CHILD killer Howard Hughes has lost a new freedom bid. Hughes, 36, who raped and murdered seven-year-old Sophie Hook in Llandudno, Wales, in 1995, has already had an appeal against his conviction rejected.

Now his case has been thrown out by the criminal Cases Review Commission.
