17/04/99 - Ripper let out
The Mirror
RIPPER Peter Sutcliffe is to be smuggled out of Broadmoor
for a secret visit to his dying father.
Last night, the mass killer's release was branded "outrageous
and unforgivable" by Whitehall officials who alerted
The Mirror.
A source said: "It is unbelievable that a man
who robbed and wrecked so many lives should be shown
compassion."
Sutcliffe's father John, 75, is dying of cancer at
his Yorkshire home. He also suffers from heart trouble
and emphysema.
The 52-year-old Ripper - jailed for life in 1981 for
killing 13 women - was granted the visit after Broadmoor
took advice from the Home Office. It is expected to
take place in the next fortnight.
Sutcliffe is also claiming compensation after being stabbed
in the eye by a fellow inmate. |
