On Thursday 071295 I was returning home from friends at Ingatestone along the A130 towards Southend. I was driving a red Vauxhall Corsa L1310NO and was alone in the vehicle, save my dog, an alsatian.

At about 0030 hrs I was driving along the single lane section of the A130, between the Wheatsheaf public house, and a closed petrol station, towards Southend when I saw a man walking on my side of the road along the grass adjacent to the road. He was also walking towards Southend, so in effect I was driving up behind him.

He was wearing a blue "Parka" type jacket with a fur lined hood. I noticed that the hood was not up, which I thought was strange as it had started snowing. He was wearing dark trousers. I noticed his hair was dark and was wavey and mid collar length.

He looked to be in his mid twenties, white and about 5'6" 5'7" tall. I did not see his face properly. I would not recognise him again. He was in my sight for about 10 - 15 seconds. I do not remember street lighting but I caught him in my headlights as it was obviously dark.

I passed alongside him as I drove along the road. He was not carrying anything I could see and he was not wearing gloves. I subsequently told the police when I became aware of what had happened nearby.
