21/12/95 - STATEMENT of CHRISTOPHER WREN WHEATLEY

NAME: CHRISTOPHER WREN WHEATLEY
AGE / DATE OF BIRTH: 44 28031951

Who states:- This statement consisting of 002 pages, each signed by me, is true to the best of my knowledge and belief and I make it knowing that if it is tendered in evidence I shall be liable to prosecution if I have wilfully stated in it anything which I know to be false or do not believe to be true.

DATED: 211295
C W WHEATLEY (SIGNED)

I used to work as a Doorman at clubs in the Southend-on-Sea area, Club Art, and also at Club U.K. in Wansworth. I was employed by Tony TUCKER and worked as a doorman for around 4-5 years.

On 211295 I was spoken to by Police Officers from Essex Police due to my association with Tony TUCKER and also Craig ROLFE and Pat TATE all of whom I know were involved in an incident in Rettendon where police found they had been shot.

This news I had heard on the T.V. and radio since the beginning of 001200. I worked for Tony until about 080195 when having returned from a holiday in Florida I saw him and told him I didn't want to work for him again. Since then I hadn't seen much of Tony or the others as I was no longer involved with them.

I have been asked to account for my whereabouts on 061295 to 071295 between 1800 hours and 0800 hours. On the Wednesday night I went out for a meal with a friend and a female to the Pipe of Port in Southend. The female is called Monique I don't know any other details.

The man is James COOPER. We planned to meet in the bar about 2030 hours for the meal which was booked at that time. I went there with Monique at 2030 hours and James was already there. The meal lasted until about 2300 hours to 0000 hours and I then drove Jim to Shoebury Road, Shoebury where I dropped him off.

I then went back to my flat with Monique, where I stayed all night until the morning, Monique stayed with me. The car I drove was mine, a silver/grey Ford Granada on a 'G' plate. Prior to going for a meal I had been training in the Academy Gym, London Road, Westcliff.

I would have started about 1830 hours and continued until about 1915 hours and from there I went back home to get ready to go out.
