I live at 36 Meadow Road Rettendon Essex, I am employed as a full time Forecourt Assistant at Oak Service Station Main Road Rettendon. I work various shift patterns but on a Wednesdays I work 0600 hours to 1300 hours. I drive a Ford Escort motor car which is a "Y" registration and blue in colour.

Meadow Road is situated on a small council housing estate just off the main A130 road in the village of Rettendon. The service station situated on the A130 is only about half a mile from my home and on occasions I will walk to and from work. Sometimes when I have my dog with me, which I would describe as Whippet cross Labrador black in colour I will walk from the service station along the Main Road turning into a lane which I believe is called Work House Lane.

I then cut across fields which takes me into the end of Meadow Road. On Wednesday 061295 I had walked to work taking my dog with me. Going to work I walked along the Main Road. I arrived about 0600 hours and finished about 1300 hours. Because of the dog I decided to walk back home via Work House Lane.

I recall walking along this lane in the muddy tracks but on this day everything was covered in snow. Approaching a metal gate at the end of the lane I saw that it was closed. I did not look to see if it was locked I just walked around the gate post on the left hand side (if you stand facing the gate with your back facing the A130 road).

Passing through the end of the lane I walked along a track where the farmers feed their phesants and over two fields. I climbed over a style walking up the hill and into the end of Meadow Road. This walk would have taken about 40 minutes during which I saw nothing unusual, I saw no vehicles in the lane and no vehicles at a small pond in one of the fields near to Work House Lane, used for fishing.

I would describe myself as a white female aged 23 yrs slim build with short dark hair, on this day I was wearing a green Parker coat and jeans. The shoes I was wearing were Wrangler walking boots. I have provided the walking boots to Essex Police for their examination.
