I am the above described person and I reside at the address over leaf. I run the Raymond Partnership, 47. Victoria Place Brightlingsea, this business rents out industrial units. One of the units owned by the company is Unit 1F Morses Lane Brightlingsea.

At this moment in time this unit is vacant. However from our records I can say that on 070695 I was approached by a person I know as M J STEELE. He gave me the story that he was a Marine engineer and needed premises urgently as he had to get out of where he was at that time.

I obliged by enabling him to move into unit 1F Morse Lane that day. He paid two months in advance in cash the amount being five hundred and sixteen pounds.

After about 3 months I became aware that STEELE was possibly working on motor vehicles, this is against the planning permission and as a result STEELE was contacted about this and eventually requested to vacate the unit. STEELE had changed the locks on the unit and therefore I was unable to gain access to the premises.

At the end of 000995 STEELE vacated the premises. The information I have just stated has been taken from the company file. I produce a copy of this file Ref SEAS/1-23. The original is kept at the company office, which I can produce if required.
