| The following events are
true. There are no added frills, there is no embroidery.
Its the way things happened, and God knows, many including
myself, wish they hadn't...
In
1986 I was released from Prison after serving a short
sentence for wounding. I stepped onto the street thinking
all the philosophical shit people who have been in and
out of trouble all of their lives want to believe.
This is it, a new beginning, a fresh start, no more
trouble and no more grief. In order to fulfill my 'dream'
and escape my past, I left my hometown of Wolverhampton
and moved to Essex where I set up home with a girl named
Debra. Within three years we had two children, a Son
named Vinney and a Daughter named Karis. sadly, not
all was bliss.
The money that I earned working for an East London
haulage company was insufficient for our needs and so
I took an additional job working in the evenings and
weekends as a Nightclub doorman.
The club I worked in was called Raquels and it was situated
next to a Butchers shop in the centre of Basildon. Raquels
was a real battleground, in its heyday it saw more blood
and guts spilled than its neighbour.
Today, despite the fact it's closed, it is still refered
to as Britain's most notorious club, but I do have some
fond memories of my time there.Within two years, I had
taken control of security at the club. it wasn't the kind
of place you could run alone, it seemed as if all the
customers wanted to do was fuck or fight each other. Most
chose to fight and it was pointless asking them to stop
because the only language they truly understood was the
language of violence.

A man named Tony Tucker who I had become friendly with,
became 'my partner' at the club in 1993 and from that
moment on, I began a descent which turned into a kamikazi
nose dive.

( Tony Tucker )
Between us, we soon cleared the club of trouble and
drunks. It became a safe place to visit, 'beer heads'
and violence were history. Within weeks, new Promoters
moved in and Raquels reverberated to the sounds of House
and Garage. Inevitably there was a demand for Ecstasy
and that demand was met with an avalanche of drugs.
In less than three years, three young people had died
from taking Ecstasy which had been indirectly supplied
by Tony and another had been murdered by Tony and an
associate of ours named Craig Rolfe. Countless people
were maimed, beaten, or terrified so much, they fled
from Essex and went into hiding. We were living like
kings but behaving like animals.

( Craig Rolfe )
The end of our reign came one snowy night in December
1995 when Tony Tucker, Craig Rolfe and another associate
of ours named Patrick Tate, were all shot dead as they
sat in their Range Rover.

( Pat Tate )
I cannot describe the full range of emotions I went through
during those years. We did have some great times together
but looking back now I can see that someone somewhere
always suffered as a result. It all seems a long time
ago now, but for many the suffering continues.

dead )
The families of the Ecstasy victims, the murdered mans
family, those still in hiding or in Prison, Pat, Craig,
and Tony's loved ones., these peoples grief will never
diminish. I cannot console them or alleviate their pain
but there are other ways they can be helped. That is
why I have agreed to assist with this site.
The truth about the past needs to come out for all
of those effected.
Mr and Mr's Whittaker, the murdered boys parents have
a right to know what happened to him, that is why we
intend to publish all relevant material about Kevins
death on this site.

( Michael Steele )
Mick Steel and Jack Whomes are currently serving triple
life sentences for the murders of Tony, Craig and Pat
. Themselves and their loved ones deserve to know the
truth. The evidence is not there to convince me of their
guilt.Darren Nicholls, a friend of theirs, provided the
testimony which led to their conviction, Darren and his
family are now in hiding. They deserve to know the truth
because there is no need for them to live in fear.It would
be a bright ending to a very dark story if Mick, Jack,
Darren and all of their loved ones could be reunited in
their homes.

( Jack Whomes )
If the whole truth about events comes out then it can
happen. Darren is the key to everything. We know certain
things were said to Darren by the Police which shouldn't
have been said. Darren knows what really went on during
his 'comfort visits' whilst he was in the Police cells.
Darren knows, that if he at least divulged this information,
the matter could be resolved for everyone.
A veil of secrecy has been present throughout all matters
connected with those murdered in that Range Rover. Statements
have been hidden, deemed not to be in the public interest,
evidence has been 'lost,' routine enquiries haven't been
carried out and an investigation into Police corruption
connected with the case has taken place behind closed
doors.
So much for Justice being seen to be done !
Please support this site, the truth always comes out in
the end,
Regards
Bernie
