??/10/92 - Were sisters condemned by a cash machine?
Evening Post

CAMPAIGNERS who claim two sisters were wrongly convicted of murder this year, believe a fault in the cash machine system played a part in convincing the jury that one of the sisters was lying. A bank manager told the Old Bailey that Michelle Taylor, 21, had made a cash withdrawal in Lambeth, London.

The girl had said she was in Bromley, several miles away, at the time. Say's Bernard O'Mahoney "Michelle could not explain it. She just stood In the dock unable to say anything. It made her out to be a liar and we believe it was a turning point in the trial."

Michelle and Lisa Taylor, 19, were jailed for life for the killing of bank clerk Alison Shaughnessy, the young wife of a man with whom Michelle had had an affair. Mr O'Mahonoy is a member of the "Justice for Lisa and Michelle Taylor" campaign, living at Basildon, Essex.

He wants to hear from anyone with experience of malfunctioning cash dispensers in the hope of compiling a dossier which might help the sisters at their appeal.
