Re: Body believed to be of Alison SHAUGHNESSY age about
25 years at 41 VARDENS ROAD, SW11 Between 2131 and 2136
on Monday 030691 I observed a body at 41 VARDENS ROAD, SW11
at the request of the Police at Battersea Police Station.
I entered 41 VARDENS ROAD HOUSE with DS SAUNDERS and followed
him up a flight of stairs, keeping to the outer side of
the staircase. I observed the body of a young female across
the landing of the stairs. She was lying on her left side
with her head resting on a rectangular black box just by
a doorway.
Her left leg was out stretched against the banister and
her right leg was bent exposing her stockinged inner right
leg and thigh. The stocking on this leg was torn and I noticed
a sharp edged incised cut to this thigh, I also saw two
further sharp edged incised cuts to her inner right forearm.
I put my right hand covered by my Jumper onto the banister
hand rail and felt the left side of her neck for a pulse.
I felt no pulse and I noticed that her body was cool. I
shone a light into her left eye by lifting the eyelid. There
was no reaction to the light and no corneal reflex when
I touched the conjunctives of this eye, I pronounced her
dead at 2136.
I retraced my steps on leaving the house with DS SAUNDERS.
I considered that the incised cuts I had observed were consistent
with stab wounds. Her neck was blood stained as were her
clothes.
