Further To My Previous Statements Dated 040691 And 060691, I Now
Add The Following: On Sunday 260591 Alison And I Bought Return
Rail Tickets For Us To Go To Leeds Castle In Kent On Monday 270591
Which Was A Bank Holiday.
We Bought The Tickets On The Sunday To Save Us Having To Queue
The Following Day. Alison And I Both Held Gold Travelcards ( Annual
Ones ) Which Entitled Us To A Discount On Services Run By British
Rail Network Southeast. The Correct Price On The Ticket Was £12.60.
But By Using The Gold Card It Cost £1 Each Less. We Spent
Nearly Every Sunday Out, On This Particular Sunday We May Have
Been At Wembley Stadium For A London Monarchs American Football
Match, But I'm Not Exactly Sure.
After Alison And I Married Last Year, My Cousin Frank Burke Died
And As This Was On The Day After Our Wedding, It Seemed Inappropriate
To Complete Our Honeymoon Until Frank Had Been Buried, We Were
Honeymooning In Ireland And One Of The Places Which We Had Booked.
But Which We Hadn't Actually Get To, Was Ballymaloe ( Yeats Room
Restaurant ), Shanagamy, Co. Cork. Alison And I Decided We Would
Stay There This Year When We Had Our Holiday In Ireland, Alison
Made All Of The Arrangements, Including Sending Off A Cheque From
Her Account At Barclays, The Strand, As The Deposit.
I Can't Remember Either How Much She Paid As The Deposit, Or As
To How Much The Total Cost Was, She Would, I Think, Have Transferred
Money From Either The Abbey National Or The Halifax Accounts Into
Her Own Account To Cover The Cost, It Could Even Have Been The
Case That Our Deposit Was Held Over From Last Year.
To Be Exact Alison Handled All Of These Matters And I'm Just Not
Sure, This Year, Between 150391 And 230391, I Flew To New York
And Travelled To New Jersey Where I Stayed Within A Flat Belonging
To Catherine Mckeon. The Flat Is In Cliffside Park, New Jersey,
But I Can't Remember The Flat Number.
Catherine Moved Out While I Was There, And Stayed With Her Boyfriend's
Family Also In New Jersey. I Can't Remember The Boyfriend's Surname,
But His Christian Name Is John. Before I Flew Out, Alison Told
Me That She Was Going Out On The Thursday Evening.
That Would Be The 210690 With Pat, A Friend From Work, I Would
Describe Pat As A Very Plumpish Lady Who Is White And Aged Late
Twenties Or Early Thirties. There Should Have Been A Group Of
Ladies Going Out Together, But That Evidently Fell Through.
I Can't Say Exactly Where They Went, But It Could Have Been To
The Archway Tavern Or To An Irish Pub Opposite Stockwell Tube
Station. I Have Today Been Back To Our Flat With Detective Sergeant
Saunders And Have Looked To See Whether Any Knives Are Missing.
As Far As I Can Tell There Are None Missing. I Have Been Asked
Whether Alison Had Any Life Insurance. As Far As I Know She Didn't,
I Have Also Been Asked How Many Sets Of Door Keys Were In Existence
For The Flat At 41 Vardens Road, Sw11.
I Believe I Referred To It Previously In A Statement As Flat 1,
But It Is In Fact Flat 3. Alison Had A Set Of Keys, As Did I.
I Don't Think There Were Any Others. The Flat Was Actually Rented
By My Aunt, Mary Burke, Who Is Currently Recovering From Injuries
Received During The Car Accident In Which My Cousin, Frank Burke,
Died.
She Is Staying At An Address Which I Have Given To Police. I Have
Been Asked About The Times Of Delivery Of Letters By Our Postman
At 41 Vardens Road, Sometimes The Postman Would Deliver Before
We Went To Work, Sometimes Afterwards.
If The Mail Was There When We Left For Work, I Would Take It With
Me And Read It On The Train Or At Work, Otherwise We Would Collect
It When We Got Home, Invariably Mr Casey From The Ground Floor
Flat Would Put It Tidily In The Hall On The Right Hand Side As
You Come In From The Street.
It Is Possible If It Was There When Alison Got In That She Picked
It Up Before She Shut The Front Street Door, Although Of Course
I Can't Be Certain, She Didn't Ever Tell Me This However.
