This is a continuation of my statements dated 9th. 12Th and 130891.

Since moving in to vardens road at the beginning of this year our usual weekday routine would be as follows:- Alison usually got up around 0730 and go into the bathroom. She would usually have showered or bathed the night before and i would stay in bed usually until about 0745 or 0750 by which time alison would be finished in the bathroom.

I would then get into the bathroom and shave. I also had a bath the night before. During this time alison would go down to the front door to get the milk. We would both get dressed before breakfast which usually consisted of a cereal and a cup of tea. Alison did her hair most mornings in the bedroom using a defuser. Which is an attachment on the hairdryer which disperses heat evenly through the hair.

We normally left the house at about 0815 or 0820. Having gone down the stairs to the flat door alison would normally go out first. This door is spring loaded and shuts behind us as we leave. I always gave it a push to make sure that it has closed properly. On the way to the front door alison always checked to see if there was any mail for us. Getting to the front door.

I would normally have the keys in my hand and i would have to unlock the mortice lock on the front door. Both alison and myself and mick casey have always made a point of locking the mortice lock both going into and coming out of the house. Having opened the door alison would walk out onto the steps at the front and i would close and lock up the front door by locking the mortice lock.

I should say that christine wright has her own front door to her flat in the basement. Having descended the steps at the front of the house we would turn right and walk together along vardens road on the same side as the house to the junction with st johns hill. As we walked along vardens road we usually met a lot of school children on the same side of the road going in the opposite direction to us.

On their way to school. Having reached the junction with st johns hill we always turned right towards clapham junction. We would carry on walking along to clapham junction till we got to the pedestrian lights just outside clapham junction british rail station where we would cross and enter the station. We both have yearly travel cards which cost £364 per year.

These are gold travel cards which entitle us to discounted services and travel with b r. Having entered the station we always went to the platform furthest away. This is because the platform there is less busy. We never stopped in any of the shops on the way to the station to buy papers or anything. We normally caught the train to waterloo which comes in about 0830 to clapham junction.

Sometimes we would get a seat and sometimes we wouldn't. The train journey usually takes about 15 minutes and we would get into waterloo at about 0845. We would then go to the main entrance to waterloo road. Just before we emerged into waterloo road. Alison would pick up a free magazine. There are usually about three times a week when there are free magazines given out there.

These are usually given out on a monday. Tuesday and thursday. Having got out of the entrance of the station alison would look to see if there were any buses approaching. She mainly used two bus stops. One of which is about 20 or 30 yards to the right of the entrance and the other is about 20 or 30 yards to the left of the entrance.

If there was a bus approaching or at either bus stop we would give each other a kiss and part company there. If there were no buses arriving at either stop. We would walk together to the stop on the right of the station entrance where i would wait with alison until her bus came. On the occasions where there were trouble with the buses and there were large queues waiting at these stops we would both walk along waterloo road to the ambulance station so that alison could get on there to avoid the queue.

The normal buses she used to take her to the strand were the number 68 and a number 1. Once alison had caught a bus i would walk down to the ambulance station. Turn right along the road that runs along the side of it. I don't know the name of the street. I always take the last little street on the left of this road and then a right. So that morley college is straight in front of me.

I then keep going straight down king edwards walk which takes me out into lambeth road at the corner of the churchill clinic. This walk usually takes about 10 minutes and i usually get into the clinic about 0900. During the day alison and i would phone each other during the day. Sometimes once sometimes more often. We would both finish work at 1700.

Before christmas 1990 alison quite often did overtime at the bank and would always phone me to let me know if she was going to be late. During this time she would work at the bank until 1800. However after christmas 1990 she did not do overtime so often and if she did. It would only be about 10 or 15 minutes. When we could after work we used to meet outside 'our price' records in waterloo and we would travel home together.

This meeting would be something that would have been arranged on the phone on the day. These meetings would normally be on a wednesday or friday evenings as i did the flower arranging on a monday night. Weight training on a tuesday. Aerobics on a thursday. And on fridays we used to do the shopping. This of course was not a hard and fast rule as we would meet on other nights if there were no classes or if we had planned to do something specific.

Alison never got a lift back to vardens road with anybody but would get the train from waterloo to clapham junction then walk up the hill to st johns hill and left into vardens road. If she was in before me. She always locked the mortice lock on the front door and would always have either the tv or the radio on. If i was in before alison i would also lock the mortice lock on the front door and i would normally have the radio on.

Apart from a monday night ( since about 000391 ) when i would normally get a lift hone with michelle taylor. I would retrace my walk to waterloo station and get the train from waterloo to clapham junction then walk up to st johns hill and left into vardens road. I do remember on about two occasions just after we had moved into the flat. Michelle did give both of us. That is myself and alison a lift home but that would only have been if she was helping us move some of our belongings from the clinic to the flat.

I should mention here that on one occasion. Shortly after we moved into vardens road. I can' t remember the date. But i believe it was 3 wednesday. Michelle gave me a lift home after work and had brought some of our belongings from the clinic. She came into the flat and was watching tv. Alison had gone to north london to stay the night with her parents. I remember asking michelle what time she was going home and she asked me if she could stay the night.

I can't remember what reason she gave for this but i agreed she could on the condition that she slept on the couch in the living room. I remember being a little annoyed at her wanting to stay and she did ask to sleep with me but i refused and she slept on the couch and i slept in my bed. Nothing else happened. I never told alison that she had stayed the night she had gone before i got up the next morning.

Having used my keys to let herself out and had replaced the keys on the table so the mortice lock was not on for the period between her leaving and me leaving. The routine for myself and alison on a friday night was for myself and alison to meet outside 'our price' in waterloo and travel home together. We would get home. Have a cup of tea. Get changed into casual clothes.

Then we would normally walk back down to asda in clapham junction and do the shopping. We always paid for the shopping by using my visa card. We would then carry the shopping back to the flat. Sometimes we used to get a burger or chips or something on the way back but we stopped doing this after a short time. And alison would cook something when we got back to the flat.

On the weekends we would always lie in bed until about 1200 o'clock ( midday ) having got up briefly during the morning to bring in the milk. On a saturday and then gone back to bed. Sometimes we would go to visit alison's parents on a saturday evening and stay overnight. Coming back on a sunday. Sometimes on a saturday we would go shopping for clothes and things or on a sunday we might go out for the day.

Go to the cinema or as we did recently. Go to american football matches. I have been asked whether michelle would have known about alison's routine. Hours at work. Journey times. The routes she took. Etc. And i am unable to give a definite answer to this. She may well have known about this from chatting with myself and alison. As regards guests staying at our flat in vardens road.

Due to the fact that a lot of our belongings are still piled up in boxes throughout the flat. And also mary burke's property is stored in the second bedroom. Any overnight guests we have had have ended up sleeping on the couch in the living room with a sleeping bag. Since moving in apart from the night michelle stayed anne marie walsh has stayed the night on average about one night per month.

She has always insisted that she sleeps on the couch even though i have offered to sleep there and let her share the bed with alison. Alison's younger brother richard who is 11 years old has spent the night on a couple of occasions and he always sleeps at the bottom of our bed. Alison's mum breada has spent one night in the flat and that night she shared the bed with alison and i slept on the couch in the living room.

Michelle is the only person who has ever come to the flat for a meal and that was only on one occasion when alison invited her shortly after we had moved in. As a 'thank you' for helping us move. No other members of her family ever dined there with us. Apart from these people they were the only visitors we have ever had to the flat.

During the time we were married i was very happy with alison and she was with me. I loved her dearly and on top of this she was my best friend. As i stated previously we did of course have rows but these didn't last long and we always made up shortly afterwards. I would say without hesitation these were the happiest days of my life.

Alison loved kids and when we talked about it we decided that we would have two or three children if we could and we had planned to start a family next year. Alison was still on the pill. Our relationship i would say was perfect in every way. Both the way we got on together and also on the physical side of our relationship. There were no problems and we would make love on average about three or four times per week.

Alison quite often wore my t shirts and jumpers but as i didn't have much jewellery she didn't wear that. On that subject i had a gold bracelet which i bought in jersey this year that i left on the chest of drawers beside the bed about two or three months ago which i have been unable to find since. But i have not had a chance to get back to the flat to have a good look for it and it has probably been mislaid. During this time and up until alison's death.

As far as i was aware alison and michelle got on quite well on the odd occasions that they saw each other. I was still seeing michelle during this time and we were still making love on average about twice a month. This usually took place on monday evenings after the flower arranging and before michelle would give me a lift home. The last time we made love prior to alison's death was i believe monday. 130591.

On friday 150391 i went alone to new york for a week. In 001090 i had got in touch with a company called polo express. Epsom square. Hounslow. I got myself booked on a courier flight for that day through them and although i didn't have to take anything out there or bring anything back. The return flight only cost me £170 return.

I had wanted alison to go with me but she couldn't due to difficulty with her leave at work and i was going to cancel the flight but alison wanted me to go. On 150391 myself and alison went to gatwick on the train and i caught a british airways flight at 1110 to j f kennedy airport in new york. Having seen me off at the airport alison then caught the train back to london and stayed with her parents until friday 220391.

I was met in new york as prearranged by kathy mckeon and her mother. They took me back to kathy's apartment in cliffside park. New jersey. There i was introduced to her boyfriend who is also called john and they let me stay in kathy's apartment for the week on my own while kathy stayed at john's apartment which was nearby.

During the week i was there john and kathy took me out every day and showed me the sights which included the st patrick's day parade which was actually held on saturday 160391 because there are no parades allowed in new york on a sunday. I flew back to gatwick. The following friday. 220391 And actually arrived at gatwick at about 0700 on saturday 230391. Alison and her brother richard met me at the airport and we caught the train back to clapham junction.

Alison had brought richard down to vardens road with her the previous night and they had both spent the night in the flat at vardens road. As they had to get up early to get to gatwick to meet the flight on the saturday. Whilst i was in america i bought presents to bring back with me. For alison i brought back jeans. Toiletries. T shirts. Two pairs of l a gear trainers and i brought some small souveniers home for her parents.

I also brought richard back a toy wrestler which is known as 'hulk hogan'. Michelle had also asked me to bring her back a pair of l a gear trainers and that she would give me the money when i got back. I did this. They cost around £20 and when michelle went to pay me i wouldn't accept her money and told her that she could have them for doing the flowers for me while i was away. I returned to work as normal after that for the monday.

Tuesday and wednesday ( 25/26 and 270391 ). On the thursday ( 280391 ) myself and alison went to jersey for the bank holiday weekend. We got the train to waterloo then the tube out to heathrow airport where we caught a flight at about 1500 to jersey. We stayed in a bed and breakfast place in st helier while we were there and we had a pleasant time.

We flew back to heathrow on monday 010491 arriving there at about 2000 and we then got the tube back to waterloo and then the train back to clapham junction. This holiday including flights. Accommodation and jewellery that we bought cost us in the region of about £600. We also had a two day trip to athlone around the first two weeks in 000591 when we returned for my niece's confirmation. Her name is laura and she is gerry's daughter.

On this trip we travelled by public transport again to heathrow as before. Flew to dublin and got the train to athlone. This journey was reversed on the return trip. The only other trip as such that we had after that was when alison and i visited leeds castle in kent on the next bank holiday monday. Which was 270591. We bought the tickets for this trip on sunday 260591 as we were returning from an american football match at wembly stadium.

As i said in my previous statement the tickets cost £11.60 Each as we had got a discount by using our gold travel cards. On monday 270591 we caught the train from clapham junction to near leeds castle and got a bus transfer to the castle. Once there we had the tour and left there again at 1600 and did the return journey to vardens road. On tuesday 280591 i went weight training as usual and the next morning i had pains in my stomach and i thought that it was just muscle strain.

However this pain persisted and i was having problems lying comfortably in bed. By thursday 300591 i had decided to see a doctor. I was not registered with a doctor and i couldn't be treated at the clinic because i didn't have my own g p. I had been speaking to michelle that day and i said that i was going to leave work early and go and register with a doctor who practices near where i live in st johns hill.

Michelle said she would drive me there as i was going to get the train. At about midday or 1230 michelle. Drove me down to st johns hill. She parked her car in st johns hill on the clapham junction side of vardens road. We walked together to the house and she waited outside while i went in and dropped my briefcase off. Michelle walked me to the doctors surgery and then left after a short time. I did not see michelle again until monday 030691.

I registered with an asian woman doctor whose name i can't now remember but i believe it starts with a k and she told me i had twisted a muscle in my stomach. She prescribed a bottle of liquid
