Medicine but she said that the real cure was to lie down with my legs together. Then raise them as high as possible into the air to stretch the stomach muscles. I had registered in the afternoon but i didn't get an appointment to see the doctor until about 1700. After that i went back to the flat about 1730. And at about 1815 alison came in with anne marie walsh who was going to spend the night.

They had apparently had a drink in the falcon pub on the way home. Alison had recently started playing the fruit machines. I remained on the couch for the remainder of the evening and i believe alison and anne marie did the shopping. When they came back alison cooked us all something to eat and we stayed in the rest of the evening drinking wine and watching videos.

The following day. Friday 310591 i stayed off work and alison took the day off as well. Anne marie was off anyway. Alison got up early. I think before 0900 as she had to phone barclays to say she wouldn't be in. I spent the entire day indoors either lying in bed or on the couch. Alison and anne marie left the flat about 1030 and went shopping to croydon.

We had been there the week before and alison had wanted to take anne marie there. Alison got back about 1400 and anne marie had already gone back to north london. While they were away i did not have any visitors. The rest of the day we just lazed around the flat. We did take a short walk down to clapham junction but it was only a short walk because my stomach was making it sore for me to walk.

The rest of the day we both stayed in the flat. On saturday 010691 we got up about midday or maybe later. At about 1400 we left the flat and went to the shops in clapham junction and then from there at about 1700 or so caught a train from clapham junction to victoria. Then changed to get to finsbury park then caught a bus to alison's parents house.

I remember we stayed in that night because breada wasn't well. We stayed the night there. On sunday 020691 we stayed with alison's parents indoors all day. At about 1600 breada left to go to an ordination or something and alison and myself left about 1700 doing the reverse of the journey by which we got there. We arrived back in vardens road about 1800. We had bought something to eat in mcdonalds in victoria on the way.

We stayed indoors until about 2100 when we went to the fishmongers arms for a drink. We didn' t chat to anyone in the pub and left and went home at about 2245. Having got indoors we watched a little tv and went to bed around midnight. Before we went to the pub that night we had made love and then had a bath each afterwards. On monday 030691 myself and alison got up as normal as i have previously described.

Alison dressed in a black sweat shirt. Floral patterned skirt. Black shoes and a blue denim jacket. She possibly had her black and white umbrella with her and a black box handbag. I was dressed in a mid grey suit. Black shoes and i had my black briefcase with me. We left the house at 0820 and i locked and checked the doors as normal as previously described.

We then followed the same journey to clapham junction as i have stated. Having got into the station we went to the platform near the back of the station and we caught the train around 0830. We managed to get a seat each beside. Each other on the train that morning in a carriage about the middle of the train. I should add that when we left the flat that morning there was no mail. We never really spoke much on the train and this morning was no exception.

We didn't see anyone we knew on the journey. We arrived at waterloo about 0845 and on the way out of the station alison picked up one of the free magazines. I don't know what the name of the magazine was but its given out there every monday. This is at the waterloo road entrance. Alison spotted a bus at the bus stop to the right as we were coming out of the station and after giving he a quick kiss she ran to catch the bus.

Which i believe was a number 68 to euston. I continued to walk in the same direction and as i passed the bus stop alison was still in the queue waiting to board the bus. As i walked past i said "i'll see you later" and alison said i'll ring you" or something like that. I then continued walking to the clinic taking the route i have already described.

I went in through the main entrance to the clinic and i remember saying good morning to pauline gross who was on reception and i then turned left in behind reception and picked up my bleep. I got to the clinic at 0900. My office is in the stores in the basement of the clinic. I went downstairs to the basement and turned left. I went along the corridor through four fire doors and my office is on the left hand side.

Using my key i unlocked my office. The key to my office is on a bunch of about five. This is a separate bunch to my house keys. During the day whilst i'm at work the bunch of keys with my office key on is kept in my pocket. My house keys are always kept in my briefcase in the office. During the day it is possible that someone could get access to my briefcase without my knowledge. I got the radio from behind the bins at the back of the store and plugged it in.

I then went to the dining room along the corridor and had a cup of tea. This was now 0910 or 0915. The storeman patrick noonan was already in before i went for tea. There was no one else in the stores at that time. The dining room is two sets of fire doors back from my office going towards the stairs on the left hand side. I made myself the tea and although there were other staff in the dining room i can't remember who.

Having made a cup of tea i took it back to my office where i read a photographic magazine whilst drinking my tea. Having finished my tea i then helped patrick with requisitions until lunch time. I went to lunch at 1155 in the clinic dining room. I had a bag of crisps and a yoghurt. And although i did speak to a few members of staff there. I can't remember who.

At 1215 i went out of the clinic to a newsagents opposite kennington police station where i picked up three pools coupons as normal. Two for me and one for alison. I still have these coupons and i have handed them to dc gallagher. They are now referred to as ag/16. I said hello to the asian shop keeper. Having thought about this. I'm not sure if it was that day or not. I left film negatives in the cam pharmacy.

Also opposite the police station and these still have not been collected. Having picked up the coupons i then walked through the market in lower marsh and then i went to window shop at a camera shop outside waterloo station. I then walked back to the clinic using the same route as the morning and got back to work at about 1255. Whilst i was out i saw no one i knew and i went straight back to my office. I carried on with my normal duties with patrick noonan.

At about 1500 or after i got a call on my extension from michelle taylor who said that she didn't know whether or not she would be back in time to help with the flowers but that if she was back before 1700 she would let me know. I said that if i wasn't back i'd do it myself. She said she had to pick something up. She mentioned her mum's house. Something about a cake. She didn't say if anyone was with her and she didn't mention shopping with lisa.

I remember that she said something to the effect that if she got back in time she would do the flowers and let me go home as i was still having problems with my stomach. The call was made from an external phone. I can tell this from the ring. I then carried on with my work as normal and i was very busy at 1630 when alison phoned.

She sounded her normal self on the phone and i remember her saying something about doing something on her way home but i can't remember what it was. I know it was something small as i remember saying to her to go ahead and do that. I said i'd see her later. I could tell from the background noise that she was still at work. I had intended to ring her back before 1700 but i didn't get around to it.

At 1700 i took my cheque book out of my briefcase and put it on the desk so that i could take it with me to pay buster for the flowers. I locked up the office and forgot to take my cheque book which was left on my desk. I then went to my locker behind reception on the ground floor where i put on my khaki coloured lee cooper jacket. I spoke to linda hanness the receptionist and asked her to keep an evening standard newspaper for me.

There are about 10 of them delivered to the hospital every night. I then left the clinic at about 1715 to go to get the flowers. I walked down king edwards walk. Left into pearman street. Left into frazer street onto bayliss road and to waterloo. Buster's flower stand is under the bridge. I got there about 1730 and buster was on his own. There were no customers when i arrived. I had a chat with buster and i remember he asked me the time and i said 1740.

He said about his helper jim never being on time. People began to arrive at the stall then and i stood back and let them get served. I then chose about 14 bunches of flowers. Whilst i was chatting to buster. Jim arrived and we chatted about american football. I explained that i had forgotten my cheque book but buster said that he was happy to get paid the next day. The bill was i think around £31.

The clinic should have the receipt. I stayed at the stall for about 1/2 hour and i then walked back to the clinic with the flowers using the same route as i had got there. I got back to the clinic at about 1810 or 1815. The only reason i try to pick the flowers up before 1800 is so that i can go ahead and get the job done. I don't think buster closes his stall until about 1830. I did not meet anyone i know on the way to or from the stall.

On getting back to the clinic i went into reception and through the doors on the left and got the bin over beside the table outside the smoking room. I opened the flowers on the table and then went to the dining room to collect the vases. I then went back up to the flowers and began sorting them. Michelle arrived at about 1820. That was the first time i had seen her that day. She seemed alright. Her normal self.

She didn't say why she was late but i said to her jokingly that i would have to sack her because of her time keeping. We chatted about things in general as we did the flowers. Michelle was wearing a black sweat shirt with a hood. And either loose track suit bottoms or jeans. I can't remember which. Other members of staff were coming and going from the smokers room while we were there and some of them spoke to michelle.

I can' t remember who these people were now. Around 1900 or afterwards. As myself and michelle were doing the flowers. Jj popped her head in round the door from reception and asked michelle if she could speak to her. That was the first time that day that i had seen jj but i can't remember what she was wearing. They both then went into the reception area and i did not hear what was being said.

In fact i now remember that i actually went out into reception seconds after that to leave something there and michelle and jj were standing outside the main entrance door. I did what i had to do and went back to the flowers. Michelle came in a short time after that and said that she had to go and see lisa about something. It was not abnormal for lisa to be at the clinic with michelle.

The thought did cross my mind though of why lisa had not come to see michelle herself but i didn't think any more of it. Michelle then left and was gone for about 1/2 hour. She came back at about 1945. Shortly before i started to tidy up. She did not say why she had been away or if there had been a problem. She still seemed her normal self. We carried on and distributed the flowers throughout the clinic and tidied up the table.

As we were doing this. At about 1950 or 1955 lisa came to where we were and asked us if we wanted anything from the shop as her and jj were going to one. This was the first time i had seen lisa that day and i can't remember what she was wearing. She left then. When we had finished doing the flowers michelle said she would meet me at her car at about 2015. This was now around 2005. Michelle said she had to get something from her room and left.

I went down to my office to collect my briefcase and i put the receipt in the drawer of my desk. I then went back up the stairs to reception. As i did so i noticed a trolly outside the kitchen which had nuts and crisps and things on which were left over from a meeting that night. I started to grab a few handfuls of nuts and eating them and david alexander the chief executive of the clinic came up behind me and said "caught you".

He then began eating some of the nuts and crisps as well. We walked up to reception together and he then went off to his office. I picked up my paper from reception. I had a quick word with linda as i left reception. Before michelle had left i had given her a small bunch of flowers to put in her car for me. These were a few flowers that were left over and i was taking them home for alison.

As i walked towards michelle's car which was parked opposit 62 lambeth road in the private drive of the clinic. I saw michelle walking to the car from number 60 or 62. This was now about 2010. Michelle got into the drivers seat just before i got there. I got to the car and put my briefcase on the back seat where the flowers were already. I then got into the passenger seat and we set off.

I have been asked if michelle had complained that night of stomach upsets or if she had kept going to the toilet and i can say no. As i feel i would remember something like that. On the way back to my flat i would say that michelle was quieter than normal and didn't actually say very much. The route home took us along lambeth road. Vauxhall. The embankment. Wandsworth road. Lavender hill. St johns hill.

And left into vardens road. I don't think there was much traffic that night until we got to clapham junction. So the journey took no more than 15 minutes. Having got to vardens road there were no free parking spaces so we had to drive past our flat up to the corner at the roundhouse pub and turned left and we parked about 10 or 15 yards along there on the left. I could see the back. Of our house where we parked.

Michelle was coming into the flat with me that night to pick up two quite large crockery flower pots and take them back to the clinic for me as they would be too heavy for me to carry on the train. One of these is underneath the table in the kitchen and the other is underneath the window in the living room. Straight in front of you as you go in the living room door. Michelle also said she wanted to use the toilet.

To explain about the plant pots. Richard from camden garden centre in camden had arranged with me that if i gave him the pots he would sort out two ornamental trees for me to go in them. And it was arranged that as they supply the bedding plants to the hospital and we were expecting a delivery on friday 070691. The man would pick up the pots from the clinic when it made the delivery and i was under the impression that they were going to deliver them to my flat.

I cannot recall when this was arranged. Whether it was on monday 030691 or friday 310591. And i can't recall when i spoke to michelle about taking them back for me. Having parked the car then. We both walked back into vardens road and along to my flat. I went up the stairs to the front door and went to unlock the mortice lock and i did comment on the fact that it wasn' t on. Things then happened as i have mentioned in my previous statements.

I cannot think of anything else i can add or of anything that needs to be corrected. When we were both in mick casey' s flat when ds saunders was there. Michelle used the toilet there and i heard her being sick. At about 2115 michelle and i were taken to battersea police station. I have been asked about the windows at the rear of the house on the first and second floor landings. They are always closed and locked.

I know this because after a windy day about a month or so previous to 030691 the windows were rattling and i actually checked them and screwed the locks as tight as i could. The window on the first floor landing was opened again in mid may and i know for a fact that it was locked again by myself. Niether of these windows have been unlocked since that. At battersea police station i made my first statement to police and while we were waiting there we were joined by mrs taylor.

Mick casey was also there. At some stage i remember michelle going out of the room to phone lisa at the clinic to tell her to get a cab home. We finally left battersea police station that night about 0330 on 040691. The taylor' s had offered to take me up to north london to breada and bobby but i thought that it was too late so i suggested that i go back to forest hill with them and that ds saunders could pick me up from there later that morning and take me up to north london then.

This was agreed by everyone and we were given a lift back to michelle's car and then michelle. Her mother and me drove to their house in forest hill. I didn't sleep that night and ds saunders took me up to north london that morning at about 1100. The arrangements were made for the removal of alison's remains to piltown where the funeral was to be. Before this. I don't remember the date. There was a memorial service held at st georges cathedral in southwark.

At which about 70 or 80 people attended. Mainly people from the churchill clinic and also mrs taylor. Michelle and lisa. There was another memorial service held in st peter in chains off crouch hill. N4. There were a large number of people at this service including people again from the clinic. Barclays and again mrs taylor. Michelle and lisa. This was 180691. Alison's remains were taken to ireland on 190691 and the funeral took place in piltown on 200691.

There were some people from barclays bank attended including john keyes. Irene aspris. And a woman i only know as ann. While i was there i stayed with alison's aunt stella in piltown.
