DS G
This is a continuation of the interview of Lisa TAYLOR. The same persons are present as were present in tape 1. The time is 11.14am according to my watch. I must remind you Lisa that you are still under caution which means you don't have to say anything. Do you understand?

LT
Yes.

DS G
Can you just state for the purposes of the tape that nothing untoward happened whilst the tapes were being switched over, meaning the case wasn't discussed.

LT
Yeah.

DS G
Okay?

LT
Yeah.

DS G
Right. Prior to concluding the last tape, I was asking you about the phone calls you had from your mother and very shortly after that this was at the clinic on 3rd June, and subsequently, you had a phone call from Michelle a couple of minutes later or within a very short period of time anyway, where Michelle told you that Alison was

DS G
dead. I think in fact, she made that phone call from the Police Station yeah? Is that correct?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Can you answer me this much then, were you friends with Alison SHAUGHNESSY?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Did, did you like her?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Did you hate her?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Are you sorry she's dead?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Does it concern you that she's dead?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Do I take from that you didn't like her?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Because you see, according to the enquiries I made and other officers made at the Churchill clinic, and all those people that knew Alison SHAUGHNESSY, or that had any association with Alison SHAUGHNESSY who I never met obviously, but uh I can only describe as a very shy, quite, pleasant girl of 21, you wouldn't have known her that well would you?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You'd met her a couple of times through your sister Mlchelle and obviously knew John during the period you were working there, but um, you wouldn't have been a big friend of Alison's, is that fair

DS G
comment?

LT
No comment.

DS G
When Michelle phoned you on the night of Alison's death, this is after you spoke with your mother on the phone, Miss TAPP describes you as being hysterical when you came off the phone, crying, upset really in a bad way. Is that a fair comment?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Well without sounding callous, everybody feels sympathy for any victim, you've got a victim of a crime, especially with regard to a murder but, I, I find it hard to understand why you were so upset that night for someone that you didn't really know that well Do things like that normally upset you or are you upset very easily?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Following your conversation with your sister, you went back downstairs. JJ lives on the first floor in the residency of the clinic is that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You went back downstairs to, I believe where there's a phone outside your sister's, a pay phone I believe, outside your sister's room and rang your dad at home. Is that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Your dad spoke to you about Alison and what he knew which didn't obvipusly appear to be a lot at that time and that you subsequently caught a taxi home from the hospital, from the clinic, which in fact is verified by Miss Tapp. Is that er is that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You stayed up into the early hours fo that morning and um, after Michelle and John SHAUGHNESSY had been spoken to at the Police Station, that your mum had gone to the Police Station and returned with Michelle and John came and stayed the evening, stayed the night, and that they remained talking throughout the night and that you went to your room about quarter to four in the morning. Is that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
John returned to work the following morning to the Arndale Centre, is that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
At the end of your statement you say, "I cannot think of any reason why anyone would want to kill Alison, or of any person who would want to."

LT
No comment.

DS G
It's a blatant lie isn't it?

LT
No comment.

DS G
It's a lie because you and your sister murdered Alison SHAUGHNESSY you stabbed her to death, didn't you?

LT
No comment.

DS G
And how you can sit here and have the gall to pretend that nothing happened is absolutely beyond me. Can you look at me and tell me you had nothing to do with the death of Alison SHAUGHNESSY?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Did you kill Alison SHAUGHNESSY?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Is that a yes or a no?

LT
No comment.

DS G
We're not talking about minor offences and such, we're talking about somebody stealing something, Lisa, we're talking about, as your solicitor no doubt explained to you prior to the interview, that we're talking about a very serious offence here, in fact the most serious offence, taking somebody's life. You and Michelle murdered Alison SHAUGHNESSY on 3rd June at 41 Vardens Road, didn't you?

LT
No comment.

DS G
It's rather ironic that you had no axe to grind with Alison. None whatsoever. You may even have liked her, I don't know. But you know how your sister fe

LT
about Alison SHAUGHNESSY's husband, John SHAUGHNESSY don't you?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You know that your sister Michelle was infatuated with John. Would do anything for him. And she wanted John for herself. And the only way of having John for herself was getting rid of Alison, because John SHAUGHNESSY never had any intention of divorcing his wife or leaving his wife, isn't that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
At the final part of your statement, excuse me, it states, 'I have been asked what the relationship was between John and Michelle and to my knowledge they used to go out together as boyfriend and girlfriend. But since Johnengagement to Alison. they have not. they

DS G
have just been good friends." Is that something you know for yourself or is that something your sister Michelle has told you?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Would you be surprised to know that since their wedding, John and Michelle's wedding, that your sister has been sleeping with John SHAUGHNESSY?

LT
No comment.

DS G
'Cos we could here be in a situation where as far as you're concerned, there wasn't a relationship because that's what your sister told you, as what she told her very good friend JJ TAPP. Were you aware of Michelle and John's relationship continuing since John and Alison's marriage last year?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Ironically, Alison SHAUGHNESSY died about a week or ten days before her first wedding anniversary. Were you aware of the fact that her wedding anniversary was coming up?

LT
No comment.

DS G
I've got nothing more at this stage to ask you Miss TAYLOR. Coren? Anything that you wish to cover?

WDC SMITH
No.

DS G
No. Mr HOLMES, any representations at this stage?

MH
No.

DS G
Okay. Prior to conculdlng this interview Lisa, is there anything wish to tell me or wish to say?

LT
No.

DS G
No. I'll serve a form on you now which tells you how vou can have

DS G
access to a copy of this tape recording.

WDC SMITH
There's one on there.

DS G
Do excuse someone's been writing on that Mr HOLMES

MH
Yes, that will do for me

DS G
I'll give it to Mr HOLMES. The time by my watch is 11.26. This interview is concluded.
