07/08/91 - RECORD OF TAPE RECORDED INTERVIEW of LISA JANE TAYLOR
Page 01 02

DS G
So you can't have been at Bromley at 20 past 4 can you?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You weren't in Bromley at 20 past 4. You were driving past the Churchill Clinic at 10 past 4, isn't that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Every question I've asked you Lisa, since this interview started, and I'm looking straight at you, you continually look down on the floor. You haven't looked at me once and you haven't answered one single question. It's your perogative what you do in this interview, the only thing I can notice from you during the course of this interview is your body movement. When I get to questions that are quite relevant to times to this enquiry. Is Carol HEALEY the nurse, mistaken?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Do you know Carol HEALEY?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Carol HEALEY has got no reason whatsoever to lie. As far as she's concerned, it's insignificant. "I saw somebody when I was going off duty at the hospital. I finished my shift. I saw a car containing Michelle TAYLOR and someone whom I later had identified to me as her sister." What reason has, Carol HEALEY to lie?

LT
No comment.

DS G
She's not lying is she?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Which brings us to uh, your statement where you say that um, "We

DS G
arrived back at the clinic at 5.20," and you go and see JJ in her room, and your sister Michelle goes to her room and she comes back to JJ's room. 5.20, that's wrong isn't it?

LT
No comment.

DS G
It's not wrong, it's a lie.

LT
No comment.

DS G
It's a deliberate lie between, made up between you, your sister and Jeanette TAPP. Isn't it?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Because you didn't get back to the clinic at that time. You got back to the clinic, just bear with me, I'll just find another statement, sorry just bear with me for a moment......right, you say you got back to the clinic at 20 past 5. You went with uh, to JJ's room, you had a chat, you were there till 6, your sister Michelle goes off to do the flower arranging with John SHAUGHNESSY. Is that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
It's a lie isn't it Lisa?

LT
No comment.

DS G
A blatant lie. I'll read from Valerie MacDONALD's statement, who is in fact the Reservations Assistant at the Clinic. Her statement is dated 14th June, 11 days after the death of Alison SHAUGHNESSY. I'll read a passage from her statement, 'On Monday the 3rd June 1991, I began work at 1300 which is 1pm. I can recall that at about 6 o'clock I saw Michelle and her sister, Lisa, driving in

DS G
to the Clinic forecourt, and parking in Michelle's car which is a white Estate. I waved at Michelle and she waved back. I didn't see either her or John again that evening. I recall the time as being 6pm as that is when I am due to go home." So she's going off duty. Again, another person who knows you this time and also Michelle, no axe to grind, sees no great significance in the fact that she sees a car driving into the car park which is a very small car park as you know, at the Churchill, waves at the driver, the driver wave: back. So Valeria MacDONALD is a liar as well is she?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Do you know Valerie MacDONALD?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Can you tell me why Valerie MacDONALD would have any reason to lie?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Because working on that basis then, either people are lying or incorrect, or Carol HEALEY who sees you and Michelle leaving in a car at 20 past 4, and you've got Valerie MacDONALD who sees you coming back at 6. By which time Alison SHAUGHNESSY is dead. By which time, you and your sister have gone to Vardens Road and you have murdered Alison SHAUGHNESSY. So how can you be in Bromley at 20 past 4, when you're leaving the Clinic at 10 past 4 and seen coming back in, in the same car as you've left and with your sister at 6 o'clock? Umm?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You say you're back at the Clinic at quarter past 5, we've got

DS G
witnesses who know you, they saw you leaving, at 10 past 4 and arrive back at 6. You see you'll have to dispute what they say because if they say, if what they say in their statements is correct you're lying. Oh, I know you're lying, but you are lying. People who make very simple statements, 'I saw somebody leave, I saw somebody come back, gave them a wave, and they waved back.' Of no real consequence until you start marrying up the times, and statements, like false statements that you have previously made. The statement I've read from. You can't have been in Bromley at 20 past 4, because you'd already left the Clinic to be elsewhere. Isn't that right?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You and your sister drove to Vardens Road, you waited in Vardens Road for Alison SHAUGHNESSY to come home, you watched her open the front door, you followed her in because she knew you both, she certainly knew Michelle, and you killed her inside. Stabbed her to death, that's the real story Lisa, Isn't it?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You go back to the Clinic and you tell me that at 20 past 5, you're in Miss TAPP's room, and she's your alibi. There's Michelle's great friend, JJ, and your good friend JJ whose alibing you both. Ironically, for the amount of people that work in that Clinic being a small premises, nobody else sees you. It's only JJ. You can't say the receptionist saw you, you can't say Sister so and so, the cleaner, or anyone. It's only JJ, don't you think that's rather ironic?

LT
No comment.

DS G
JJ was interviewed this morning and admitted to the Officers interviewing her, that she has lied. That she is covering for you and Michelle. That she lied and she did not get back to her room till 7 o'clock in the evening, to quarter past 7, and you and your sister were already there, and you said to JJ, "We have been here since quarter past 5 this evening. Where have you been?" Little did she know you'd already been to Vardens Road, you'd murdered Allson SHAUGHNESSY, and you'd come back to obtain your alibi. So you haven't ot an alibi anymore Lisa. Jennifer TAPP has retracted what she made in a statement. She has said she's lied and you and your sister have fed her the 5.15 story so that you could alibi her. She's lied. I'm on tape here, it can be verified. Jeanette TAPP has admitted lying on your behalf and Mlchelle's. So how the hell can you turn round in your statement and say to me you were back at the Clinic in JJ's room at a quarter past 5 when we now know that's false? When you've got Carol HEALEY watching you leaving the Clinic at 10 past 4, you've got Sister MacDONALD, Valerie MacDONALD seeing you drive back into the car park six or shortly after and Alison SHAUGHNESSY is dead. What are you going to do for an alibi now Lisa?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Who else do you think is prepared to tell lies on your behalf?

LT
No comment.

DS G
Because I think it's got to the stage in this enquiry, that people are fed up lying on your behalf and your sister's behalf. Your

DS G
alibi for that afternoon is gone out the window. You're sitting there thinking to yourself, 'He's tried to kid me. Jeanette would never say that.' But Jeanette TAPP has, and I repeat, told my colleagues during the course of an interview, that she lied because she wouldn't believe the fact that you or your sister could do such a thing. Not lying knowing that you committed a murder, she lied because she's always held you both in high esteem, your good friends, she couldn't believe that such a thing, that you were capable of such a thing. That's why she lied, she lied for in a way, the right reasons. But she has said, "I was," ........... it's not just Jeanette TAPP. Jeanette TAPP, you will know whether I'm sitting here telling the truth or not. Jeanette TAPP visited her mother that afternoon. Her sisters were there with their children. She played with the children, she left her mother's at 7 o'clock, I'm not 100% sure where her mother lives, but you do, and she walked back and she got back about between sort of 5 past and quarter past 7 to the Clinic. Her mother has been seen and her sisters to verify the fact that Jeanette TAPP was in their house at around 7 o'clock having been there from the afternoon about 3 or 4 o'clock, and left their house at 7, so how the hell can she be in her room at quarter past 5 when she's sitting down playing with her sister's children and talking to her mother? Will you tell me that?

LT
No comment.

DS G
You were standing on her balcony when she came back. You waved to her. The tape is just about to run out, I'll stop the interview for

DS G
the present. It's uh, 4.25 by my watch. This interview is completed for the present.
